The christening of MV Patricia marked another important milestone as the third vessel of SAL’s Orca Class enters service.
Hosted at Liebherr Maritime Cranes’ production plant in Rostock, the ceremony brought together colleagues, customers and partners from SAL and Liebherr, reflecting a relationship built over many years through shared values, close cooperation and a commitment to quality and innovation.
A special role in the ceremony was taken by Patricia Rüf, Member of the Administrative Board at Liebherr-International AG, who served as the vessel’s godmother and gave MV Patricia her name.
As the latest addition to SAL’s modern Orca Class fleet, MV Patricia further strengthens the company’s capabilities for safe, flexible and reliable heavy lift transportation. The vessel is designed to support complex project cargo operations worldwide and combines powerful lifting capabilities with modern, efficient vessel technology.
Beyond the official ceremony, the day provided an opportunity for colleagues, partners and friends to come together, exchange ideas and celebrate the people and partnerships behind the vessel.
SAL extends its sincere thanks to everyone who contributed to bringing MV Patricia into service – from the shipyard teams, suppliers and project partners to the colleagues and crews involved throughout the process.
