Working Student – Bunker Purchase (m/f/d)

Founded in Bremen in 1989, the Harren Group focuses on the entire value chain around the vessel. The Group spans five operational divisions – Chartering, Engineering, Logistics, Ship Management and Renewable Energies. Harren is committed to carbon-neutral shipping and is working to convert the entire fleet. The goal is zero-emission shipping across the Group by 2035.

 

The fleet under management currently consists of 70 units all key vessel types. The family-owned company operates 26 offices in 24 countries around the world, employing around 600 people ashore and more than 2,000 crew members on board its ships.


For our office in Bremen or Hamburg we are looking for a Working Student – Bunker Purchase (m/f/d).

As a Working Student at our Bunker Purchase Team, you will support the operational backbone of our growing fleet. Working closely with the core team, you will take on a variety of administrative and data-related tasks that contribute to the smooth handling of day-to-day processes. This is a great opportunity to gain insight into the commercial side of shipping within a globally operating company – offering flexible hours, hands-on experience, and a supportive team environment.

 

Your responsibilities:

  • Support with data entry and maintenance tasks
  • Assist in preparing and updating lists and overviews
  • Help ensure smooth information flow to internal departments (e.g., Controlling)
  • Take care of small but time-consuming admin tasks to reduce workload on the core team
  • Provide general assistance as needed in day-to-day operations
  • Link between Bunker Purchase Team and Operations Department

 

Your profile:

  • Enrolled student with interest in shipping/logistics 
  • Solid knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Good command of English (German is a plus)
  • Reliable and motivated team player
  • Willingness to occasionally work in our Hamburg or Bremen office
